Events in June
It starts to get even hotter in June but the beaches are still not as busy so it is a great time to visit and see the sites.
We have picked out some of the biggest events in June below but for a full list see our Events Diary.
L-Imnarja
L-Imnarja is a feast in honor of two important Saints in Maltese religion, St Peter and St Paul and is one of the oldest feasts celebrated in Malta and Gozo. There are many traditional horse and donkey races around Mdina as well as plenty of music and dance. Celebrations are centred around Rabat but festivities also take place in Nadur.
Malta Music Week
Malta Music Week is a week long celebration of music and features live street concerts and club nights. The Music Week is a big deal and attracts international acts like Calvin Harris, Erix Prydz and Pete Tong. Also taking place in Malta Music Week is the Isle of MTV festival which is a free open air concert in Valletta.
Ghanafest
Ghanafest is a wonderful three day festival celebrating Mediterranean folk music. Musicians are from Malta and neighbouring Mediterranean countries. The festival takes place in the gorgeous Argotti botanical gardens in Floriana (walking distance from Valetta). There is a great programme of workshops and special activities for children making the festival a brilliant family day out.
