Weather in May
Malta in May is just lovely. The daily temperatures have crept up nicely and it is unlikely to rain much with an average of just 8.9mm. It is a great month to visit if you are looking to explore the islands, as it will not be too hot and there will also be fewer tourists than in the summer months so sightseeing will be a lot more pleasant.
If you are looking for a pure beach holiday then you may prefer the warmer climates that July and August bring, but May will still offer warm days for some sunbathing in between the sightseeing.
Whilst it is mostly nice and warm in the day, be sure to pack some layers and a jacket as it can get a little bit cooler in the evening.
